The Woodsmith story

Originally established by Andrew in 2004 as Lakeland Fells Furniture Ltd the company quickly became established as specialists in the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture and joinery for both domestic and commercial settings.

From small one-off pieces to large production runs we ensure all pieces leaving our workshop are finished to our exacting standards.

From the very first sketches to the final piece all aspects of furniture assembly are completed in-house guaranteeing that we have full control over every process.

For specialised metalwork, bespoke glass or stone items we also work closely with other local business expertise.

We team with Kendal College and normally have at least one full-time apprentice. Many of our staff have worked here since completing their own apprenticeships with us. With others we have been pleased to play a role in them progressing to establish their own successful businesses.
